Tuck students, partners, Dartmouth graduate and undergraduate students and employees are welcome to audit Tuck elective courses, provided:

  1. They are qualified by educational background for the course,
  2. The instructor's permission to audit is obtained, and
  3. There is space in the class.

Auditors may not be evaluated in any way, may not take examinations or submit papers for critical comment, and may not receive a grade, formal or informal. Core courses and courses that fulfill the global requirement are not open to auditors.

Auditors must pay a small fee for the privilege to cover administrative and material costs ($60 for a full-term course; $30 for a mini course). Note that refunds to the audit fee will not be issued if auditors drop the course after the normal add/drop period ends (typically midnight on the Friday after the first course meeting)

Auditors are welcome to order a name placard to display in class. Tuck students typically display placards to help faculty and fellow students learn names. Auditors are not required to have one, but if desired, may order one here. Placards cost $15, and take approximately one week to be printed and delivered; an email will be sent when it is ready to collect.

Individuals interested in auditing a class should proceed as follows:

  1. Email tuck.registrar@tuck.dartmouth.edu to get a course schedule and information about which courses are available to audit.
  2. Email the professor to obtain permission to audit.
  3. Once permission is granted, click the button below to submit contact/bio information and audit plans, and to pay the audit fee.
  4. Once your account is created and access has been granted to the course site, you'll be notified via email.
